However, it is very important that you check with your doctor before starting up with the exercises. Because there may be medical reasons which may not allow you to do physical activities. As some pregnant women may have bleeding during this period where they would have been advised by the doctors to be on bed rest throughout the pregnancy period. So get your doctors permission before exercising.

If you have no problem in exercising then some exercises are recommended for you. It is always good to do some cardio vascular exercises like walking, jogging, and swimming. However, remember that the intensity of the exercises should be low. Do not force yourself. When you feel tired or suffocating or feel difficult to breath, please slow down your workouts. Overheating of body is not good. Avoid exercising during hot sunny day. Finish of your exercises before the sun gets hotter or do your workouts after the sunset. Drink plenty of water.

Dance and slow aerobics are also very good for pregnant women. Start your exercises slowly and always start your exercises with stretches. Make sure you stretch your arms, thighs, upper back, and lower back. Above all these exercises, it is well and good to do yoga during the pregnancy period.

Benefits of exercising during pregnancy

As I told you earlier, fatigue, weight gain, body pain, emotional imbalances are some of the most common problems faced my pregnant women. It helps in digestion problem and reduces constipation. When you do exercises regularly, it helps you to avoid unnecessary weight gain. Proper stretches will help you by reducing your back pain and relaxes the stiff muscles. It will help you to feel stronger and prepares you for the labor.
Above all, the exercises what you do helps your baby to be born. Doctor has found that the baby’s cardiovascular function improves when the mom does some exercises, there by reduces the chances of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, make it a habit to do some sort of exercise during pregnancy too. Before starting your exercises, confirm with your physician what exercises you are allowed to do and what you should not do.

Exercises during pregnancy

In general, we know that exercises are very good for our body. To activate the inactive cell, we need to do some physical activities that involve the inactive muscles. Therefore, exercises are good. However, is it advisable to do exercises during pregnancy? This is a big question among most pregnant women. I too had the same question and my doctor cleared it.
The answer for the question is “YES, you can do exercises during pregnancy”. It is actually a very necessary one. You have to exercise during pregnancy.
It is common that during pregnancy period, you feel tired, you gain weight, you cannot even walk freely, you get so much of body pain and something will pull you back from all your activities. Why all these happen? The answer is just because of lack of exercise. That is physical movements. So we have to do some sort of exercise during pregnancy.

Worries of an expectant dad

When the expectant dads hear from their partners about their pregnancy, an unknown fear arises in their mind. They start feeling that they are pushed into a new unfamiliar, mysterious, adventurous world.
In general, we can say that the expectant dads have fear about sharing their partner’s love with a new member, even though it is his baby.
The next fear is about the security, whether his earnings will be well enough to support both his wife and the baby to be born. Because in most families there will be a change from two incomes to one income. Now the single salary has to serve three members. Therefore, the expectant dad has to be really a strong person both mentally and financially.
The next common one is fear of performance. Whether he can be a good dad for his baby? Can he perform his duties properly as a dad? Whether he will be able to guide his child properly in studies and in life?
Next is his fear of pains. Not his body pain but that of his wife’s. It is a natural human nature that we cannot tolerate our loved ones health problems. That to during the pregnancy time, it is very difficult for the men to see their wives suffering with back pain, body pain, headache, nausea, vomiting… Most men cannot withstand the labor pain and blood of their wife.
Then comes the fear for relationship. Almost all men will have fears about how the child will behave with him. Whether his baby will come to him with a smiling face? Whether his child will stay for longer time with him? How soon the child will recognize him as its dad? Main fear is about his rights towards the baby. Because most of the women will always keep a checkpoint for their husband, in moving with the child. Like don’t touch when he is sleeping, wash hands before touching the baby, don’t kiss the baby on its cheeks, so on…

Reactions of an expectant dad

Universally many people believe that once the couples get to know about the formation of their baby, the only reaction they show is happiness. However, in the recent years, after so many research works, doctors in different parts of the world has found out that pregnant women feel depressed due to hormonal changes. In general, pregnancy period is the most ecstatic period for almost all women. However, due to hormonal changes, they experiences different mindsets. Their mood keeps changing or wavering. During this period if any other cause adds to it, they become depressed.

At least two among ten pregnant women will be facing this problem. So be frank to your doctors or midwives, so that they may help you out by some mental exercises. Above all, tell you people at home how you feel and ask them to help you. Because, in most cases the family problems are the ones which leads to depression. Try to keep yourself relaxed. If you think that your job may pressurize you, then it is better to take a break. As far as possible, keep your mind healthy and out of tensions. Because, depression may affect the fetal’s growth. It may directly reflect on the brain development of your baby. So have a relaxed pregnancy period.

Finding out the due date

Once after you found that you are pregnant, the next exciting thing is to find out the due date. Due date is the most probable date, when your baby is going to see this beautiful world. All pregnant women will be very eager to know their due date. Calculating the due date is very simple, if you know your last menstrual period starting date. The average time or days for the fetal development are 280 days or 40 weeks or 9 months and 7 days. However, for this calculation, you need to remember your LMP date correctly. In general, the delivery done in between 38 weeks to 42 weeks is considered the full term. When the baby is born before 38 weeks, it is called premature baby and if the baby is yet to be born after 42 weeks, then the pregnant woman will be induced or forced to deliver the baby naturally or through a c-section.

How to confirm pregnancy

Once you find any one or more symptoms of pregnancy, it is better you do a test to confirm it. Taking a pregnancy test is a very exciting one for many and doing a pregnancy test is an easy one.
First for your knowledge, for what a pregnancy test is done? This test is to find whether our urine or blood contains a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin. If the test shows positive sign for the presence of the hormone HCG, then it means the person is pregnant.
How to do the pregnancy test? There are so many home pregnancy-testing kits available in the market. Most of them give the same result. Therefore, no need to worry much about the product brand. These home-testing kits will help you to find the HCG presence in your urine. Moreover, test should be done early in the morning that is very soon after you awake up. After doing the self-test, you need to check it up with the doctor through a blood test.
When to do the test? These tests will show the correct result between 7 to 12 days after you are conceived. Moreover, the blood test is more sensitive than the home test. In general, most doctors suggest taking the test once after the period is missed.

Pregnancy signs and symptoms

I totally forgot to talk to you about something, which is the first step of pregnancy. Some of them have only few discomforts, where as few women go through most of them. The top most problem for more than half of the pregnant women is breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Some woman keeps vomiting whatever they eat. Nausea starts by the 6th week of pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting may continue until the 9 month. However, they are not at all harmful. Morning sickness is the second most common problem. Even though it is called morning sickness, it occurs at any time of the day. Stretch marks are something, which cannot be avoided in anyways.

Constipation, indigestion, heart burning, nose bleeding and backache are frequently found in most conceived women. Hair loss is a one of the most common problems. Bacterial infection, swollen gum, migraine, headache, leg cramps, skin changes, abdominal pain and cramping are some of the other commonly found problems during pregnancy. Proper dieting, regular walking and soft exercising will help to overcome some of these problems largely.

Care about your intake

As I told you earlier, you have to live the whole 9months and 10 days very cautiously. Give more and proper importance to your diet. More than checking out what to eat, check what not to eat. It is always advised to avoid undercooked meats because they may contain bacteria that affect the baby. The same way avoid undercooked chicken, pork, raw seafoods and raw or half-boiled eggs.
Avoid high cholesterol foods like deep fries, egg yolk, soft cheese…, these may increase your blood cholesterol level and may lead to indigestion. Constipation is a very common problem during pregnancy. So take more of fiber food. Let your diet comprises lots of fruits and salads. See to it that your intake has all vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are required for the baby. It should be a well balanced diet. All vegetables and fruits are safe for the baby. Avoid eating outside foods, as the hoteliers may add too many flavors for taste. Avoid soft drinks as they contain too many toxic substances that may lead to cancer kind of diseases. Alcohols are to be totally avoided during pregnancy as they may prevent oxygen from reaching the baby’s brain. This may affect the baby’s physical and mental development.
Lastly, keep in track with your sugar level and pressure level. Most women develop gestational diabetics during the pregnancy period. Sometimes they may continue with the same condition through out their lifetime. This may even lead to overweight of your baby. So take good and correct diet. In addition, drink liters of water daily.

Changes during pregnancy

Every pregnant woman will find changes in her body. Apart from gaining weight and big tummies, you still find many changes in body condition. It’s better to say you need to change many things in your life during pregnancy. The main change is on your diet. Need to avoid some foodstuff, coz it may not suit your baby, who is there inside the womb. Then are the changes in your physical activities. For the first five months, you need to be very careful, as it is the stages where the baby’s formation is strengthened. It is necessary that you have to be very soft in your movements. Avoid riding a bike, especially on the bumpy roads. Avoid watching horror kind of movies. Try to keep your mind fresh and relaxed always. Do keep walking. It may not be a fast walk but at least a normal walk. It is something very precious. You have to live the whole 9months and 10 days very cautiously. Because you are not alone now, there is a creature that completely depends on you for his growth. Think how careful you need to be, when you are bringing up an egg into a well-developed baby. The fetal development is the most important one. Therefore, you need to go to your doctor every month. Each time you go to the doctor, she will be checking the growth and heart beat of the baby. The first month she will do an ultrasound test to confirm your pregnancy. Then on your third, fifth and seventh months, they will do scanning to check the growth of your baby’s body parts. This scan will tell accurately about the length, width, size of each part.
Then, the doctors will teach you to count the movements of the baby, which is one of the most important things. You need to check it every day for the normal number of movements. Apart from this, you need to check your doctor before taking any tablet. Let it be a heavy dose tablet or a mild dose tablet, it should be taken only after the doctors prescription. From the day one until you give birth to the child; please do avoid the other tablets as far as possible, as it may affect the fetal inside.

When I found it out…

In today’s world, everything is pre planned whether it is well planned or not. Schooling, graduation, extra courses, career, a vacation trip, marriage, everything is planned and so is the arrival of the baby. After marriage, most of the couples’s first decision making will be this, “when can we have a baby?” And yes, we too decided on it. But after few months, something kept telling me, an intuition, that I’ll soon be an expectant mom. I was right! On a fine morning, out of a home test, I found that I am pregnant. My immediate reaction was a smile. But the next second, I was quite worried. How will my hubby take this? We had so many plans. What will happen to all those plans? Will this bring a big change to everything? With so many questions, I woke my hubby from his deep sleep to tell this. He was in such a sleepy mood that he could not even open his eyes. I slowly shook him up and said this with so much stammering. But he didn’t respond anything. I think the message, which I said, reached his mind very slowly. Because he suddenly turned to me and asked, actually screamed “What?” It took him an hour to come out of this shock. He felt like all his dreams were shattered. However, after sometime, he himself came to me and said, “Let’s get a formal confirmation from the doctor, before telling to other about this GOOD NEWS”. I was so happy. Got the confirmation and told to all my close ones.

HI ALL

I’m starting this blog just to share my experience. I’m a mom of a 6 month old cute little baby. Since this is my first motherhood, I had loads and loads of doubts on each and everything, right from the day one of my pregnancy. And so soon I have crossed all the 3 trimester of pregnancy and the dream delivery. Days are running like minutes, that I still remember the day, when my doctor confirmed my pregnancy.
Now I’m enjoying my baby’s daily growth on all aspects. It’s so visible that u can observe a change every week either in her physical appearance or on her activities.

I haven’t written a blog before. But, when I told my friend that I like to share these with many, she suggested me to write blogs. So, here I’m, so excited, found a place to crave my thoughts, express my mind and share my experience!!!!!!
